Photo of my back yard, listing its various defects: No light, unkillable red maples, invasive bittersweet, a former sandbox, etc.

It will be the best garden EVER.

Yes, as the temperatures skyrocket to a toasty 41F, I'm looking forward to seeing dirt again. The snow is down to only about a foot or so, and the compressed-snow-turned-ice has almost entirely melted from the walk and driveway. Every time the temperatures tip above freezing I get antsy. Is it spring yet?! How about now?! We had the February thaw (two of them, actually) and the subsequent horrible snowstorm (TWO FEET FFFFUUUUU-) and now it's time for the last flutters of cold-warm-cold-hot-hahayouthoughtitwouldn'tgetCOLD, right? Right. ...Right? D:

Perhaps. We keep bouncing back and forth between subzero and well over freezing - the maple harvest will be amazing this year! And I think the feral cats who made it so far will soon shed their incredible coats.

So, my to-do list:
Actually plan out a standard garden (you can get into hands-off permaculture later, self, learn how to grow stuff first)
Buy seeds
Buy seed starting soil
Plant seeds in egg cartons
Get soil samples to the Extension
Get compost in vast quantities
Dig, dig, dig! :D

Also, last night involved the most amazing chat with the most amazing people that lasted until, no lie, 6am. And then I got up at 7 for school. We watched Nuts draw, and Pell and I made a tentacle comm, and I think we talked about Primus' genitals, and then there was Skywarp in a tentacled strap-on and it was amazing and now I am going to sleep FOREVER.

Nostalgia is too thin. The worry is making me sick. I need to get off my lazy ass and put up a sale post so I can afford the vet.
