lexYou know how when you spend time with your ex and his new girl, things are super awkward? Today was not that day. Today was AWESOME. The ex, his ladyfriend, and I all went upstate to visit a cave system in the state forest - it's so lovely up in the mountains! The ex fit through the Lemon Squeeze, but neither of us ladies could, but that was fine (we just went along the boardwalk for that bit). There was another tight squeeze right after the Lemon Squeeze, and the last time I was there I hadn't even tried for fear of getting stuck - but I've regretted that ever since, and this time I tried. I ended up shimmying along with my shoulderblades and hips, my arms up over my head, and the ex helped pull me along (I didn't really need it, but it was fun anyway and offered in good nature rather than his usual tauntingly insulting kind of way) and I made it through no problem. Fuck yeah. There was assorted other spelunking fuckery, and it was awesome. We were also accompanied by some folks who said they were from Jersey but spoke what sounded like Canadian French - they were delightful people, three generations (all bilingual, except perhaps the grandmother), and the kids were AWESOME. We helped them through a bunch of the caves. They were so fun. Definitely kids raised right. ♥ I'm glad I got a little bit of video with them in it - they were that awesome.
After that we picked up our other friend (my in-person bff, as opposed to my darling twin on the other coast) and hit up the arcade. :3 Many games were played, many tickets won, and then we did laser tag. Heck yeah. We did a free-for-all deal, and it's a freaking 2-story arena with varying cover, and I kept shifting my alliances with everyone and then shooting everyone in the back, so yeah. Loads of fun. :3 After that we hit the bookstore, and the ex's ladyfriend and I ended up in the cookbook section talking about the ex and his complete and annoying refusal to prepare food of any kind, which was kinda awesome. And then said ex came up and we started lying out our ears about how he used to always cook extravagant meals for me and the look on his face was priceless. >:3 And that was pretty much our day! The two of them head back to Hawaii tomorrow at 6am and I'm actually slightly sad they can't stay longer. The only downside to today is that my lungs started burning during laser tag and they kinda haven't quite stopped, four and a half hours later. I keep doing that weak cough like eh-heh, eh-hrm. Unpleasant.
As much as I kinda despise him, the ex is a good friend. And I'm not just saying that because he's probably gonna fly me and my bff out to Hawaii to visit sometime. XD And it seems like his ladyfriend is an excellent fit for him. I recommended that he keep her. XD They're both roughly the same kind of nuts, so it should work well. I found it intensely fucking amusing that he wears ladies' underwear for her too, though. I think he needs to just admit to himself that the frillies were not in fact MY kink. WHOA SUDDENLY THIS GOT REALLY TMI
So... yeah. I can never describe my relationship with the technical husband to anyone else. We're friends! I can't explain it! He's a dipshit but a good friend and I despise him but I like him! So not interested in that anymore, though.
HEY LOOK AT MY CUTE LITTLE BLACK HOLE OF A CAT ISN'T SHE SO CUTE. She tucked herself in, I had nothing to do with it.
