7 Days of Fanfic: Day 2

Huh. This one is tough.

I tend to erase female roles. I tend to focus on violent, uncontrolled characters. I tend to sensationalize the unknown. I tend to romanticize disabilities.

These are not terribly good things to do, really. They're all things I am actively working on. So they're the things I've noticed as patterns in my own writing.

Alright, how about themes? Hm. I try to take a "realistic" look at things that are not realistic at all. I give characters a weird mix of fluff and angst. I used to write about small moments, but gradually I've moved into attempting plots and action. I use a variety of styles depending on the emotional palette of the fic. If given a choice between happyfuntimes and grimdarkangst I will probably go for the grimdarkangst.

I often wonder what themes other people see in my writing.

In other news, Nostalgia is cuter than ever. Every morning I go off to school, I follow a certain pattern, which involves saying good bye to her, telling her to be good, and kissing her on the nose. Every other time I go to kiss her, she pulls back, but when we are saying bye for the day she always reaches out and bumps her nose against my lips. ADORABLE. And when I come home, she is waiting on my chair at the table and comes running to greet me the moment I'm in the door. And when I wake up, she is there next to my feet, ready to climb onto my chest and purr me to death. I kind of adore her. ♥

Patterns? Hmmm. I have never seriously analyzed your writing to see themes or patterns....but that also means you don't have one that is annoying, because I do note that usually.

Yaaaay that makes me ridiculously happy! XD I also have to sit down and really think about it to see patterns in a particular author's work - I mentally categorize by content and the author's name really never enters into it unless I'm giving a rec. So patterns by person are hard. :(

Hmm, from the fics of yours I've read (which has mostly just been Transformers...) I'd say a theme of yours is that you write about intense relationships. The ones that don't fit quite comfortably into the easy view of relationships. But that may be too small a sample. *sheepish*

Heee that actually - that sounds quite accurate. Now that you mention it. I don't mind that pattern at all. :3

I am so serious about Nostalgia waiting for me to come home. If I'm home, she has no interest in the door, but the second I walk in she's running full-tilt for me, and then she practically falls over herself to come to a stop and reach out one paw for my leg, then stare up at me and attempt to trip me until I snuggle her. XD It's the only time she tries to trip me, actually, except for when we're racing around the house and she reaches out to try to sideswipe me.

...yes I race my cat around the house, doesn't everybody do that
